Blue Heron Gallery

Herons are one of my favorite birds to photograph. You can spend ten minutes watching a heron and see one pose. Or if you are lucky during those five minutes a heron will fly into the sunset or deomonstrate their fishing skills or pose during dusk. During the summer I was at my favorite sunset spot when I noticed a heron tucked into the bay in the blue dusk.

This is one of my favorite heron captures. I entered this photo in the VIrginia LIving Contest in the Nature category. This week I received an email notifying me that it received the honor of 2nd place and will be displayed in the Quirk Gallery.
